"Susan
created such a fun and sup-portive atmosphere for our diverse group
of children. She has a unique ability to encourage each child's
individual strengths while still get-ting the most out of the group
as a whole. The final performance was great and children who
were so shy and nervous at the start blossomed into full-fledged performers!"

"This class is a blast! The kids have a great time
and my daughter can't stand it when it's over. She's taken two
sessions and keeps asking when the next one begins. Susan has
a real gift for bringing the best out in each child, finding their
strengths, but also making them stretch. The final performance
is the icing on the cake!!"

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Learning
improvisation helps children develop:
w confidence
w spontaneity
w creativity
w verbal
and physical expression
Through theater games and improvisation exercises,
the children will create stories, adventures, characters and songs.
Skills will be learned that free the imagination and raise awareness
of the self as an individual and as an integral part of a group.
The
children will work together as an ensemble, each child having the
opportunity to explore his or her imagination and see their ideas
come to life.
The musical improvisation portion of the course
will teach the children how to create lyrics, listen for melodies,
perform a song and sing in concert with others.
The class will
culminate in a performance in which all material is completely improvised.
