Susan has been teaching since 1990 and is also an acting coach, director, playwright and performer. Currently,
in addition to the classes offered by Improv etc., Susan is a faculty member of the Lucy Moses School at the Kaufman Center where
she teaches children and adults. Susan also directs and performs with the improv troupe MishMash which performs completely
improvised scenes stories and musicals based on audience suggestions. With Power Plays, LLC, Susan coaches attorneys as
well as acts as trial witnesses for NITA training programs. With myPractice, she is an Actor/Coach for professionals seeking
to improve their communication skills.
From 2006-2008, From 2004-2005, Susan taught the children of members of NYCHEA (New York
City Home Educators Association) from ages 7-14. In 2002-2003, she taught Creative Dramatics at the Congregation Beth Elohim After
School Program in Park Slope, Brooklyn for 5-6 year olds. In addition, she has taught at City University and The Learning Annex, and
for elementary, junior high and high school students, senior citizens groups, and the clients of an early recovery group at the Educational
Alliance/Project Contact.
Susan began studying improvisation in 1987 and shortly thereafter became a member of the improv troupe Mission: Improv-able (1988-1998),
for which she subsequently became co-director. Susan later founded, directed and performed with the improv troupe Script
Tease (1997-2003 & 2006-2008). In addition, Susan directed the theatre company Metro Clowns (2001-2003), and was a performing
member of the clowning troupe The Ludus Theatrical Company (1997-2000). With the American Ensemble Company(1989-1990), Susan
performed educational skits, led discussions and directed role playing about AIDS at public schools throughout New York City.
In 2006, Susan produced and appeared in her original play Female Bonding at The Impact Theater in Brooklyn, New York. From June
- December 2008, Susan performed weekly with the musical improv troupe MC Hammerstein, at The People's Improv Theater.
In August 2009, Susan directed her original one-act play "The Baby" which was featured in the Strawberry One-Act Festival. Susan
currently performs comedy and music at various NYC venues.
